What we aren’t supposed to know

“Then war broke out in heaven. Michael and his angels fought against the dragon, and the dragon and his angels fought back. But he was not strong enough, and they lost their place in heaven.”  Rev 12:7-8 (NIV)revelation

The book of Revelations is about the end, but it also speaks to now…the whole bible is about a point in time and a specific people, but also applies to now – to all people. In the story of how satan fell, I’ve heard people recount how satan thought himself higher than God and was cast out. But I rarely hear people emphasize the small phrase tucked in these two verses: “But he was not strong enough”.

In my class on Revelation, the instructor, Ian Bond, said the devil wants us to see the book of Revelations as an impenetrable mystery. But this is one truth from Revelations that is not a mystery to me any longer, and I won’t let stay a mystery to you – the enemy is NOT STRONG ENOUGH when it comes to God! Praise God!

I know I have given the enemy too much credit throughout my life, and not given God enough credit. But times-a-changing!

God spoke a word to me: “And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, NOW is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ:”  Rev. 12:10 (KJV) (emphasis is mine)

In all that is going on in our world, NOW is the time (past time) to give credit where credit is due. Now is the time to see salvation, strength, the kingdom of God, and the power of Christ.  The destruction we see is of the enemy. But Salvation, strength, glory, power, and Jesus Christ are of God sent to save the lost, heal the sick, and set the captives free.

  • In all the goodness we see, in all the bravery we see, in all the courage and boldness is Jesus clothed in every day people.
  • Whatever you face today, whatever battle that rages against you – God is always stronger.
  • The only strength, the only sure foundation to stand, is the truth of God’s word and the truth of who God is and will be for us.
  • Now is the time to get the right image of who God is firmly established in our minds and hearts.
