Food: Live What You Love

Where is our heart really at when it comes to living?

A few weeks ago I started a 7 day bible reading plan about FOOD @: I have been surprised at what I’ve been reading; surprised that Food has been where my heart is when it comes to living.

Whoever first spoke the phrase: “Relationship with Food” was Holy Spirit inspired in that moment, because the problem really is about relationship! We see, starting in John 6:22, after Jesus fed the 5,000 with fishes and loaves, the crowds tracked him down on the other side of the sea…Jesus, never fooled by what we say; sees our hearts. He said to them: “I assure you: You are looking for Me, not because you saw the signs, but because you ate the loaves and were filled.”

• Jesus pointed out their true desire was their stomach, not relationship with Him. It’s about relationship! They were hungry for food, not Him. He calls us to hunger for relationship with Him, to hunger for His Presence. He wants us to know Him, to be close to Him, to love Him… when we love something, that “something” becomes our focus right? It becomes valuable, needed, and desired to us. We think about it, we plan our day around it, and we even change our lives for it. Jesus wants to be that “it” to us!

• Jesus was revealing a lie. That crowd was so convinced they wanted Jesus they pursued Him to the other side of a sea. So, Jesus revealed the truth of what they really wanted in their heart, what they were really craving. He doesn’t want us to remain fooled or held captive. He will open our eyes to see what we are captive too. It’s at that point we have the choice: follow Jesus or turn around and go home as the crowd did.

Jesus is calling us to “Live What We Love”, but He wants to be what we truly Love more than anything else in this world. He is the Bread of Life and the Living Water that really satisfies us, into the deepest places of our hearts that no cheeseburger will reach.

Ps. 27:8 (AMP)
“You have said, “Seek My face [inquire for & require My presence as your vital need]. My heart says to You, Your face [Your Presence], Lord, will I seek, inquire for, and require [of necessity and on the authority of Your Word].

In writing about this, it has grown into several posts. So, I will be posting more on this again.
