The Promise, comes by Faith!

Are you waiting for God to come through on something? Is there something specific you have heard from Him that He’s going to do, but it hasn’t happened yet? Are you feeling like it won’t happen? Are you fearful it won’t happen?

I’d like to encourage you today that God is always working on our behalf, and not to listen to the voices that say you have missed it, that you didn’t do something well enough or right enough, that God decided not to do that because of something you did or didn’t do. Those are lies, please feel free to take them captive and cast them out in Jesus name.

I read in Romans 4:13 “It was not through the law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith. For if those who live by law are heirs, faith has no value and the promise is worthless, because the law brings wrath. And where there is no law there is no transgression.  Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed…”

Living by the law is to live by works, which puts our little feet on a hamster wheel to feverishly strive, but go nowhere. We are left feeling like we don’t measure up, because legally we don’t. We won’t ever, can’t ever measure up to the law – that is why Jesus gave Himself up to save us. Works is to have faith in our self, but Jesus says to trust Him, to have faith in Him, and to rest in Him. He wants to help us get off that wheel, heal our feet, and build our faith and trust in Him.

The flip side of works is Faith!  Faith in Jesus is to be secure in His Strength, confident in His abilities, reliant on Him to help us, believing and speaking what we hope for in Him yet do not see.

Rm. 4:5 “However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness.”

“Having done all, stand…” stand on His Word! Memorize it! Get the Word on the inside of you! Read it every day and especially when you feel discouraged. Write out specific scriptures of God’s Power and Faithfulness, then speak the Word, Proclaim it out loud, Speak to the issue of your faith in just how BIG God is over that issue and see how small it becomes and see the victory Jesus brings.

The most powerful place to be is behind Jesus, not trying to do everything by ourselves out in front of Jesus. His goal in strengthening us, and building us up is never to establish self-reliance, it’s to build us up to let go and rely on Him. I kept my post small so you could visit this page for greater encouragement, please do check it out.

Put your faith in Jesus to release the Promise!
